The Ness City Bank Building (The Skyscraper of the Plains) was built of limestone in 1890 and is listed on the national registry. The Ness County Historical Society and the Ness County Courthouse also provide glimpses of our history. A bronze statue of Corporal Noah V. Ness, a Civil War soldier for whom the county was named, sits on a patio of memorial bricks on the Courthouse lawn.
