All the communities along K-96 have busy collaborating and planning for the past year, doing all that behind the scenes work that will make the K-96 June Jaunt roll along merrily. If you're a fan of road trips, make sure you're checking out this event because there is some wonderful driving along this highway. The opportunity to admire a sunset or sunrise in Western Kansas is a chance of lifetime, one that you can certainly check out next week, June 1-3, 2012.
If your hobbies include geocaching, motorcycling, enjoying unique music or shopping, you'll want to participate in the K-96 June Jaunt. Each of our June Jaunt communities have geocaches that will help move you along our trail. In just one week, the journey begins and incase all the events and activities aren't enough to get you to join us, we're offering a $500 cash prize.
Now that I've got your attention, we're sure you are wondering how you get your hands on the cash. The answer: Travel. In each community, we have selected a site that has geocaching coordinates. At this site, you will find a unique stamp that indicates you visited each individual community. You will also find a log book to sign in to. If you don't have the technical tools for geocaching have no fear. We also have questing clues - word clues to lead you to the same location to make sure you get the stamp while traveling.
The geocaching/questing cards can be picked up in each community's convenience stores. In order to qualify to win the $500 cash prize, you need to visit and find all geocache/questing location. Then send your card into the address listed on the card by June 9.
